First Full ‘Superman’ Trailer Released Ahead of Summer Debut

by Chris Davies

Billboards across the globe lit up with the exciting announcement that the first full trailer for Superman will be released this Wednesday. The highly anticipated video has now been officially made available online, giving fans a glimpse of what’s to come in the DC Universe’s reboot of the iconic superhero.

The new “motion poster” offers a fresh look at Superman and his loyal companion, Krypto, who are seen together overlooking the city of Metropolis. This teaser provides what is likely the clearest view yet of the city’s distinctive skyline, setting the stage for the action to follow. As the trailer progresses, viewers see Superman take flight, and the teaser ends with confirmation that the full trailer will land on Wednesday. While the exact release time hasn’t been confirmed, the trailer is expected to be available at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET.

Up until now, fans have been treated to a teaser trailer, a five-minute preview, and a featurette, but the upcoming full trailer promises to reveal more about the story and offer a closer look at the stunning visuals that fans of the comics have been eagerly anticipating.

This summer, Superman will face stiff competition at the box office, with films like Jurassic World Rebirth, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, and the animated Smurfs movie all set to be released around the same time. Given this fierce competition, it’s essential that the full trailer captivates both comic book fans and general moviegoers alike.

Filmmaker James Gunn, who is behind the reboot, teased what audiences can expect from the new Superman in a statement last December. “I think we can expect a Superman who is about compassion of the human spirit. A Superman who is about kindness, love, and compassion while also being a very strong character,” Gunn shared. “He is the best of humanity, even though he is an alien from out of space.”

Superman, DC Studios’ first film in its newly reimagined universe, is set to soar into theaters worldwide on July 11, 2025. Gunn’s approach blends epic action with humor and heart, delivering a Superman who stands as a symbol of compassion and optimism.

The movie stars David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor. The supporting cast includes Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, Isabela Merced, Skyler Gisondo, and others, making it a star-studded lineup.
