Amazon MGM Studios has released a teaser trailer for Oh. What. Fun., a holiday comedy set to stream on Prime Video starting December 3. Directed and written by Michael Showalter, the film stars Michelle Pfeiffer as Claire Clauster, a woman who is fed up with being overlooked during the holiday season.
Oh. What. Fun. follows Claire, renowned for her extravagant efforts to create the perfect family Christmas celebration. This year, however, things take a turn when Claire disappears, choosing instead to embark on an adventure of her own—free from the pressures of coordinating the usual chaotic holiday festivities.
In the teaser, Pfeiffer humorously questions the lack of recognition for mothers during the holiday season: “Why does Saint Nick get all the credit? Moms do all the work—and nobody mentions what Mrs. Claus does.” The trailer offers a sneak peek of the film’s festive tone, including a humorous moment featuring Chloë Grace Moretz at a holiday show with a shirtless Santa Claus, leading her to remark, “Damn, Santa’s jacked.”
The film’s ensemble cast includes Chloë Grace Moretz, Dominic Sessa, Felicity Jones, Denis Leary, Jason Schwartzman, Eva Longoria, Joan Chen, Devery Jacobs, Havana Rose Liu, Danielle Brooks, and Maude Apatow.
Based on a short story by Chandler Baker, who co-wrote the screenplay with Showalter, Oh. What. Fun. is produced by Showalter, Jordana Mollick, Kate Churchill, Berry Welsh, and Jane Rosenthal. This project marks the latest collaboration between Showalter and Amazon MGM Studios, following their 2023 release The Idea of You, starring Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine. Showalter’s next project is the upcoming film Verity, also with Amazon MGM, starring Hathaway, Josh Hartnett, and Dakota Johnson.
With its blend of humor and holiday cheer, Oh. What. Fun. promises to be a festive treat for audiences this holiday season.
