by Chris Davies

In a bold move that is set to redefine action in Indian cinema, Kannada superstar Yash has officially joined hands with legendary Hollywood stunt director Guy Norris for the highly anticipated movie adaptation of the epic Ramayana. This two-part cinematic retelling, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari, stars Yash as the powerful antagonist Ravana, with Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita.

Yash, known for his thunderous success with the KGF franchise, is also co-producing the film, which promises to be a landmark in the Indian action genre. By bringing in Guy Norris, renowned for his groundbreaking work in Mad Max: Fury Road and The Suicide Squad, the production is setting its sights on international standards of action choreography. Currently stationed in India, Norris is working closely with Yash to craft intense and innovative stunt sequences that will reflect the epic scale of the source material.

According to reports, Yash is undergoing rigorous physical training to portray the ten-headed demon king Ravana with imposing authenticity. First-look visuals from the set already reveal a commanding transformation, stoking anticipation among fans. The shoot for Ramayana Part 1 is expected to span 60 to 70 days, with the first installment slated for a Diwali 2026 release, and the sequel following in Diwali 2027.

This collaboration also reflects a growing trend of cross-cultural partnerships in Indian cinema, especially in the movie genre of epic action-dramas. With its mythological depth and global production values, Ramayana is poised to leave a lasting imprint on audiences worldwide.

Parallel to this magnum opus, Yash is also leading another ambitious venture titled Toxic, a pan-India period gangster drama directed by Geetu Mohandas. The ensemble cast features powerhouses such as Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Achyuth Kumar, and Akshay Oberoi. Set against a gritty, historical backdrop, the movie will blend action and emotion and is being simultaneously shot in Kannada and English, with dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam.

As Yash continues to expand his cinematic universe, both Ramayana and Toxic highlight his evolution into a multifaceted force in Indian cinema — not only as an actor but as a visionary producer.
