Quiver Distribution has announced the digital and on-demand release of the new horror movie The Other, written and directed by Paul Etheredge, arriving June 13.
The chilling film follows Daniel and Robin, a couple grappling with infertility, who decide to become foster parents to an 8-year-old mute orphan named Kathelia. Hoping to build a permanent family, they are quickly met with emotional and supernatural challenges.
Despite her age, Kathelia is fiercely independent and emotionally distant, behavior her new guardians attribute to a difficult and possibly traumatic past. However, shortly after her arrival, unsettling phenomena begin to plague the household. Black mold creeps through the home, a red slime coats the swimming pool, and Robin begins to sense a sinister presence watching her.
As these manifestations intensify, Kathelia’s fear grows, prompting her to attempt an escape. She finds an unlikely ally in Fiona, a neighbor born with Down Syndrome who possesses powerful paranormal abilities. Fiona reveals that a monstrous entity from Kathelia’s past has followed her to her new home.
The horror deepens with the discovery of Kathelia’s mysterious scar and the revelation of Robin’s unexpected pregnancy. These events unravel a terrifying chain reaction, forcing Kathelia, Daniel, and clairvoyant Fiona into a desperate race against time to confront and defeat the malevolent force threatening their lives.
Starring Olivia Macklin, Dylan McTee, Avangeline Friedlander, Lily D. Moore, and Shawnee Smith, The Other is produced by Lisa Normand, Jeffrey Reddick, Jeff Walker, and Tim Nagle.
A psychological and supernatural thriller, The Other explores the fragility of family, the power of trauma, and the darkness that sometimes refuses to stay buried—all within the gripping lens of a horror movie.
