In a major casting announcement that has stirred excitement among cinema enthusiasts, the makers of director Paul George’s much-anticipated pan-Indian movie, Kattalan, confirmed on Wednesday that acclaimed actress Rajisha Vijayan has joined the project as the female lead.
Following the resounding success of Marco, which received nationwide praise for its storytelling and cinematic craft, producer Shareef Muhammed of Cubes Entertainments is set to raise the bar once again with Kattalan—an adrenaline-charged action thriller poised for a pan-Indian release.
Taking to its official Instagram page, Cubes Entertainments announced, “Welcoming the sensational @rajishavijayan to the world of Kattalan.” The production house highlighted Vijayan’s reputation as a Kerala State Award-winning actress, lauding her for a magnetic screen presence and her ability to portray complex emotions with authenticity.
Rajisha Vijayan first turned heads with her debut in Anuraga Karikkin Vellam (2016), a performance that earned her the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress. Since then, she has continued to build an impressive portfolio with roles in hard-hitting films like Karnan (2021), Jai Bhim (2021), and June (2019). She’s also set to star in upcoming thrillers such as Sardar 2, Bison, and Kalamkaval, reinforcing her status as one of the most dynamic talents in the South Indian film industry.
Vijayan joins a robust ensemble cast that includes rapper Baby Jean, veteran actors Jagadeesh and Siddique, and Telugu star Sunil—famed for his roles in Pushpa: The Rise (2021), Pushpa 2 (2024), and Jailer (2023). Also part of the lineup is Kabir Duhan Singh, renowned for his intense performances across multiple languages.
The movie is enriched by a high-profile technical crew. Music will be composed by Ajaneesh Loknath, best known for his work on Kantara 2, while choreography will be helmed by Sharief. Cinematographer Renadive, costume designer Dhanya Balakrishnan, and editor Shameer Muhammed round out the creative team.
