GKIDS has unveiled a new English dub trailer for the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death compilation movie, ramping up anticipation ahead of its U.S. theatrical release on July 16. The movie will be available in both English dub and the original Japanese with English subtitles, aligning with its international rollout strategy.
The acclaimed distributor confirmed the film will screen in select theaters across the United States. Meanwhile, Crunchyroll is handling the international screenings across key territories, including France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Latin America, and Australia. Like the domestic release, overseas audiences can choose between the dubbed and subtitled versions.
As part of the film’s unique appeal, it features a special acoustic rendition of the opening theme, “Ao no Sumika (Where Our Blue Is)”, performed by Japanese artist Tatsuya Kitani. Fans can also look forward to a fresh segment titled “Juju Stroll,” a mini anime featuring beloved characters Satoru Gojō, Suguru Getō, and Shoko Ieiri from Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2.
This compilation movie condenses the dramatic events of the Hidden Inventory / Premature Death arc, offering both new and returning fans a concise cinematic experience of some of the anime’s most pivotal moments.
The release follows the conclusion of the Shibuya Incident Arc, which capped off Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2. All episodes from both the second season and the original 24-episode first season are currently streaming on Crunchyroll, along with the hit prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
Looking ahead, Jujutsu Kaisen: Culling Game, the highly anticipated third season, is currently in production, with Studio MAPPA once again at the helm of animation.
The anime continues to trace the dark and supernatural world created by Gege Akutami, whose Jujutsu Kaisen manga debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in March 2018. The manga has since grown into a global phenomenon, now spanning 30 volumes. The final volume includes 16 pages of additional material, wrapping up the stories of characters like Yūko Ozawa, Uraume, Nobara Kugisaki, and Panda through a series of emotional epilogues.
Both VIZ Media and Shueisha’s Manga Plus offer the manga to international audiences in digital and physical formats, further cementing its place in the global pop culture landscape.
With this new trailer and theatrical release, Jujutsu Kaisen is once again proving its staying power in the anime movie scene, solidifying its reputation among fans and critics alike.
