Netflix has released the much-anticipated second season of FUBAR, the action comedy series starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The new season introduces Carrie-Anne Moss—widely recognized for her iconic role as Trinity in The Matrix movies—as Greta Nelso, a cunning German spy and ex-girlfriend of Schwarzenegger’s CIA operative character, Luke Brunner.
Season one followed Luke, a veteran CIA agent, who postponed his retirement after discovering that his daughter Emma (Monica Barbaro) was secretly working for the U.S. government. Now, in season two, their true identities are exposed, forcing the family into witness protection. Living together under one roof, tensions rise with Luke’s ex-wife Tally (Fabiana Udenio) and her partner Donnie (Andy Buckley) also in the mix, creating plenty of comedic and dramatic moments.
Arnold Schwarzenegger promises viewers that the second season is “bigger, it’s better,” with more laughs and action packed into its eight episodes. Netflix’s official synopsis reveals the high stakes: Luke faces off against new adversaries, including his former flame Greta Nelso, whose threat to destroy the world is only rivaled by her desire to ruin Luke’s life.
Carrie-Anne Moss shared her enthusiasm for working with Schwarzenegger, recalling, “The first time I met Arnold was in a rehearsal for a dance scene. We just jumped in, and it was so much fun. He’s a hoot… I don’t know if I have ever had so much fun doing a job.”
The returning cast includes Milan Carter, Travis Van Winkle, and Fortune Feimster as agents Barry, Aldon, and Roo, respectively. Nick Santora, the show’s creator, describes the new season as “bananas,” praising the chemistry and performance of the lead actors: “Arnie and Carrie-Anne are icons. They know how to do action, be funny, and create full and engaging characters.”
For viewers wondering whether to watch the second season of FUBAR, it largely depends on their affinity for Arnold Schwarzenegger and the show’s blend of humor and thrills. The first season garnered mixed reviews, holding a 50% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes but a more favorable 68% audience score.
The new season of FUBAR is now streaming on Netflix.
