‘Honey Don’t’ Trailer Revealed Ahead of Cannes Premiere

by Chris Davies

Focus Features unveiled the trailer for director Ethan Coen’s upcoming dark comedy Honey Don’t on Wednesday, May 7. The film stars Margaret Qualley, Aubrey Plaza, Charlie Day, and Chris Evans, promising a blend of humor and tension.

The trailer introduces Honey O’Donahue (Qualley), a small-time private investigator tasked with uncovering the truth behind the mysterious death of a woman connected to a strange church led by a morally dubious pastor, portrayed by Evans. The trailer hints at a riveting dark comedy filled with both laughs and intrigue.

Written by Coen and his frequent collaborator and wife, Tricia Cooke, Honey Don’t is expected to carry the same offbeat tone as their previous film, Drive-Away Dolls. In addition to the star-studded leads, the film features a supporting cast including Charlie Day, Billy Eichner, Lera Abova, Gabby Beans, Talia Ryder, and many others.

Produced by Coen, Cooke, Robert Graf, and Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner, the film will premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival as part of the Midnight Screenings section. Honey Don’t will then hit theaters on August 22, distributed by Universal Pictures.
