It reports that actress Sarah Bolger, known for her roles in The Lazarus Effect and Mayans M.C., is set to headline the new horror movie Nervous, currently in production around Seoul, South Korea. This psychological thriller unfolds largely in English, with some Korean dialogue woven into the narrative, reflecting the film’s cross-cultural backdrop.
Nervous delves into the harrowing experience of a woman trapped in a disorienting nightmare, grappling with a troubled marriage amid the unsettling and unfamiliar Korean countryside. The film’s exploration of psychological horror and cultural tensions promises a gripping journey for audiences.
Joining Bolger are South Korean actors Ko Ah-sung (Snowpiercer) and Sungsoo Yune (Strong Girl Nam-soon), adding depth and authenticity to the movie’s complex characters. The film is directed by Abner Pastoll, who previously worked with Bolger on A Good Woman Is Hard to Find. Pastoll co-wrote the screenplay with Richard Hobley (Slumber), ensuring a tightly woven, suspenseful story.
Production is spearheaded by Junyoung Jang (The Host, A Good Woman Is Hard to Find) and Abner Pastoll under Seoul’s Story Robot, in collaboration with February Films. The project also boasts executive producers Youngmin Kim (Exhuma), Guillaume Benski (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris), Lloyd Levin (Hellboy), and Beatriz Levin (Da 5 Bloods).
