Samuel Goldwyn Films has acquired the North American distribution rights to Tin Soldier, an upcoming action thriller from Unified Pictures and Current Entertainment. The film stars Scott Eastwood, Jamie Foxx, and Robert De Niro, and is slated for release later this year.
Directed by Brad Furman—known for The Lincoln Lawyer—who co-wrote the screenplay with Jess Fuerst, Tin Soldier tells the story of a cult leader (Foxx) who recruits highly trained veterans by promising protection and purpose. Robert De Niro plays a government operative who enlists Nash Cavanaugh (Eastwood), a former cult member and ex-special forces soldier, to infiltrate the cult’s heavily fortified compound. Cavanaugh’s mission is fueled by personal vengeance, including avenging the death of his loved one.
The film was produced by Furman and Fuerst, along with Steven Chasman and Keith Kjarval. The North American distribution deal was negotiated by Miles Fineburg on behalf of Samuel Goldwyn Films, while CAA Media Finance represents the producers for international sales.
